Redemptorist Cemetery
Oconomowoc Township
Waukesha County Wisconsin

Location

This active cemetery is located on the grounds of the Redemptorist Fathers' Seminary at 327 Lac La Belle Drive, just west of the intersection of Pennsylvania Street on the norther shore of Lac La Belle, Village of Lac La Belle, in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 19, Oconomowoc Township.

History

Redemptorist Fathers' Cemetery was established by the Redemptorist Fathers, December 28, 1918. It is a private cemetery only for the Catholic Order of the Redemptorists. The Seminary has also been known as the Immaculate Conception Seminary.

In 1924 a bell tower was erected at the location with an 18-note instrument installed by Deagan. The tower and bell were lost when the buildings were razed.

UPDATE: On October 8, 1988, the St. Clement Health Care Center opened in Liguori, MO (near St. Louis). The Oakland Province Redemptorists moved there from Oconomowoc. It has been reported that later the monastary was torn down to make way for a subdivision and the graves were moved to St. Louis to their new health care center location.
