Ottawa Town Cemetery
Ottawa Township
Waukesha County Wisconsin

Location

This active cemetery is located on the east side of Highway 67, 2 1/2 miles south of Highway 18, Section 14, Ottawa Township.

History

Ottawa Town Cemetery was established circa 1844. The Ottawa Cemetery Association was formed Sept. 16, 1914 and was incorporated June 22, 1923. The Association has nine directors and they hold an annual meeting.

Records

We recently received an update on the Ottawa Cemetery records. The president of the cemetery retired, due to old age and all cemetery records are now maintained by the town clerk for the Township of Ottawa. Her phone number is 262-965-3228.

The cemetery has a website up and have included a searchable list of graves and a cemetery map on thier site. You may want to check there for additional burials and additional information

There are cemetery records available 1844 to date. All monuments have been documented. Burial certificates began circa 1925 and are maintained by the Supervisor. Ottawa Association minutes, September 16, 1914-date. There is a chart of the cemetery and there are three sets of records with maps.

See also Cemetery Records online at the Town office

At the Waukesha County Museum there are transcriptions from the tombstones 1844-1939.

Transcriptions/Interments

Location of graves may be had from the Cemetery Association.

There are a few unmarked graves, which no information can be found.
