J. W. Walker, Manager of the Hotel Virginia at Chicago, who will manage the Fountain house hereafter, was here to-day in company with H. Tweedy of Lake Forest, Ill., to look over the property with a view of establishing golf links. It is proposed to make one of the finest links in the Northwest at the hotel and to make golf one of the drawing cards for the summer. After looking the tract over it was considered an excellent field by Mr. Tweedy and arrangements will be made at once for the improvement. The links will start in the vicinity of the Fountain spring and run in a westerly direction to the Wisconsin Central railway and return on the north side of the hotel and encircle the croquet grounds and return to a point opposite the main entrance of the hotel on Grand avenue. Mr. Walker looked over the hotel buildings and left orders for desired improvements and they left for Chicago on the evening train.
