Contributed by our Regular Correspondents Local Brevities A. J. HILL is pushing the work on his new blacksmith shop. County Treasurer HAMILTON will begin the sale of lands for delinquent taxes, on Tuesday next. Al. HILL's bird-dog, Dick, has been found at last-at the bottom of an old well on the Old Hyde place. His career ended well. Register of Deeds PERKINS, has moved his family into the dwelling next door south of the Press office. Lew. Is handy for us to bother now. We learn that our old friend, G. G. BACON, is back again in the BACON House at White Creek. G. B. has a host of friends who will be glad to welcome him back to the old place. On Wednesday of last week Mr. E. L. JONES, of Plainville, presented us with a hen's egg measuring 6 ½ inches around the smaller circumference by 7 7/8 around the larger. The auther of that egg must be a real inflationist of the biggest kind. The Arcadia Leader, of the 25th has the following: "E. C. HIGBEE says the steelyards wouldn't weigh his boy, and Dave LEWIS says he used the hay scales; but HIGBEE begs leave to amend, and says that he needed the hay scales to weigh himself after the birth of that boy. That sounds more like it." "E. C." will be remembered by our citizens as a former school teacher here, and as the son of Superintendent HIGBEE. We congratulate him on his good fortune.
