The contracting parties had never met until the day of the wedding. They became acquainted by friends and correspondence. He is a man well liked by his neighbors, attends to his own business, and has no trouble with any one, a man of excellent habits, temperate in all things and we think it a match well made and wish them much joy and a long life. MARDEN officiating, and the remains were interred in the Easton cemetery. A Pleasant Party To all whom it may concern: A man's birthday only comes once a year, so the good friends in and around Adams Center came just as they did last year and gave us another shaking up. Only this time they shook a little harder. Why, what do you think, while the men went to put out their teams, the women came into the house, bringing in (well, it's none of your business), took off their wraps, pulled out the table, ran upstairs and got another table, put the two together and began to pile on. Now, the rattling of dishes and knives and forks must tell the balance. Suffice it to say, that eyes bulged out, the white of the eye shone bright, all ate heartily. We had a song service and prayer, and on leaving, they left a nice rocking chair as a present for my 73rd birthday. God bless the donors! February 11th, 1897 J.
