In Memoriam On January 3, 1893, Quincy Lodge No. 71 A.F. and A.M., adopted the following, in memory of their deceased brother, David Schofield: The Grand Master of the Universe has seen fit to call from labor among us our aged brother, David Schofield, and his spirit, like the beautiful river with its shaded banks, peacefully winds its way to the Ocean of Rest. The Lodge has lost one of its earliest members, and with solemnity we realize that a life once active, useful and progressive is ended here. We extend to the family of our deceased brother our heartfelt sympathy, and this consolation: Although he be dead, yet he lives; for when once a human soul has been entered an apprentice to life, there is no end. Forever and forever this soul shall live, filling its place in the great plan, even as timbers hewn in the forest of Lebanon exactly filled their places in the Temple. Resolved, That the above minutes be spread upon the records of this Lodge, and that a copy be sent to his family, and also to the Adams County Press for publication. Levi F.
