


Source: Wood County Reporter, February 12, 1863, Page 1 A meeting of the Convention of the Presbyterian and Congregational churches, called the Lemonweir Convention, was held at this place [Grand Rapids, Wood Co., Wisconsin] on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th inst. Owing to the extreme cold weather the first days of the Convention some of the most remote churches were not represented. There were present the following ministers: Ministers Rev. J. W. Perkins of New Chester Rev. A. C. Lathrop of Westfield Rev. D. A. Dampbell of Saxeville Rev. W. W. Jones, of Springwater Rev. J. W. Harris, of Grand Rapids Delegates J. H. McChesney of New Chester B. Salmon of Grand Rapids G. W. Densmore of Stanton E. H. Fisher of Westfield The most noticeable feature of the exercises was the ordination of Rev. J. W. Harris, the resident Pastor.
