A meeting of the Convention of the Presbyterian and Congregational
churches, called the Lemonweir Convention, was held at this place
[Grand Rapids, Wood Co., Wisconsin] on the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th inst.
Owing to the extreme cold weather the first days of the Convention some
of the most remote churches were not represented. There were present the
following ministers:

Ministers
Rev. J. W. Perkins of New Chester
Rev. A. C. Lathrop of Westfield
Rev. D. A. Dampbell of Saxeville
Rev. W. W. Jones, of Springwater
Rev. J. W. Harris, of Grand Rapids

Delegates
J. H. McChesney of New Chester
B. Salmon of Grand Rapids
G. W. Densmore of Stanton
E. H. Fisher of Westfield

The most noticeable feature of the exercises was the ordination of Rev.
J. W. Harris, the resident Pastor. The exercises connected with the
ordination took place on Thursday night, the 5th, being the first of
the kind that ever took place in Wood County.
