
From the Adams County Press, Saturday July 2, 1904, Page 4 E. L. Billings of Roche-a-Cris, died at his home at that place, June 23rd, aged 43 years, of pneumonia. Ernest Lincoln Billings was born July 21, 1860 at Lomira, Dodge Co., Wis., when he was about 13 years old his parents moved to Oconomowoc, where he resided until he reached manhood. March 7, 1882 he was married to Esther R. Carpenter of Oconomowoc, of this union seven children were born, of whom six with the wife are left to mourn the loss of a kind husband and affectionate father. Mr. Billings came to Adams county in 1890 and settled on the farm at Roche-a-Cris, where he has since resided. He was an earnest and sincere Christian, a leader in the rleigious and Sunday school work of the neighborhood. He had held many offices of trust in his town, always with credit, and enjoyed the respect and esteem of his townsmen. Funeral services were held at the family home Saturday, Rev. A. H. Smith officiating. The interment was at Roche-a-Cris.
