From the Oxford Times [Oxford, Marquette Co., WI], Thursday June 24, 1915, Page 1 Column 2 (apparently copied from the Adams Advertiser) Elder James McCHESNEY departed this life on the morning of June 3, 1915, at the home of his eldest son, Sam D. McChesney. He leaves to mourn his loss four sons and four daughters, many grandchildren, one sister and six nephews. He was born at Newark, N. J., Feb. 12, 1825. He had been an ordained minister since 1869, preaching in early days in various places in Wisconsin and Illinois. With his faithful wife he spent his latter days quietly in the old home, near Grand Marsh, until she passed about fourteen months ago. -- Adams Advertiser
