The Masonic installation, held at their hall last Thursday evening was one of the most pleasant affiairs of the kind ever held by the lodge. The installation was also accompanied by a banquet and in conjunction they were supposed to be held as a celebration of the chartering of the lodge which occurred in 1856. The installation ceremonies were conducted by R. S. HARRISON, acting as installing officer, and G. W. WATERMAN as Grand Marshal. The following officers were installed: NAME POSITION ATCHERSON, W. R. J. D. HOPPER, J. L. S. W. KEYES, J. B. Sec. LEWIS, G. E. J. W. LEWIS, John P. Treas. SCHNEIDER, C. H. Tyler SMITH, M. C. W. M. SWEET, Wm. S. D. After the installation ceremonies secretary J. B. KEYES read a brief history of the lodge during the fifty years of its establishment. To many and probably to all this history was most interesting, bringing back many recollections of those who have been called to serve the Grand Architect of the Universe, as well as those who now reside far away from the place where they were taught the rites of the order. After the installation ceremonies there was a banquet held at the W. R. C. hall which was prepared by the wives and sisters of the members. To decribe the repast is beyond our power, but we will simply say that in all the history of Masonic suppers which are famed for their completeness, this surpassed them all. The brethren of the lodge from Quincy and White Creek were in attendance in goodly numbers, as well as a number of invited guests from Zerah lodge of Necedah.
