The Republicans of Adams County met at the courthouse in Friendship September 22, 1890. The convention was called to order by L. W. Holmes, Esq., a member of the Republican county committee, and on motions, F. B. Hamilton, Esq., a member of the Republican county committee, and on motions, F. B. Hamilton, Esq., of Leola, was elected chairman, and G. W. Waterman, of Adams, was chosen secretary. On motion the chair appointed S. W. Pierce, of Adams, S. W. Tyler, of Dell Prairie, and E. Knight, of Strongs Prairie, a committee on credentials. The committee reported delegates present, with authority to cast votes, as follows:
