2) "On Friday evening, May 2, was held the event of events for the Juniors
and Seniors - the Junior-Senior reception. The banquet was held in the High
School gymnasium, which had been decorated with the Senior class colors,
gold and white. These colors were hung from the center of the room and from
the sides of the gallery, thus giving an air of festivity to the gym which
was quite different from its everyday appearance. This color scheme was
carried out still further in the table decorations and in the supper menu.
The supper was prepared by the mothers of the Juniors and the members of the
refreshment committee and spoke eloquently of their skill.

The guests were ushered into the banquet hall to the sound of music produced
by the High School Orchestra. The orchestra continued playing throughout
the meal and added to the pleasure of the occasion.

Mr. Weiland acted as toastmaster. The toasts given were: Class colors -
Mr. Weiland; Enjoyable occasions - Etta Wandry; Who's who in 1924 - Agnes
Haney; Who's Who in 1925 - Evalena Thalacker; School Life in the Old
Building - John Cant; School Life in the New Building - Clarence Bursack;
Examinations - Mr. Starkey.

The toasts were followed by a program given in the main room. The features
of this program were a piano duet by Agnes Haney and Belva Dewar, a song On
the Dreamy Amazon, by Etta Wandry, Marie Slowey, Margaret Nelson, Wenona
Willis, Agnes Haney, and Beulah Marvin; a play Those Red Envelopes, and two
songs, Oh, Senior, and I've Lost My Doggie, by the well-known Junior Boy's
Quartet, composed of John Cant, Glenn Collins, Sylvester Smythe, and Lyle
Kanneman."

3) "The Seniors and Faculty were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Weiland in the
High School gymnasium last week on Tuesday evening. Several contest games
were played, after which prizes were given to Bernice Wagner and Chet
Collins; while the booby prizes were awarded to Charlotte Wilkins and
Clarence Chesky. More games were played, then the guests, who had been
divided into three groups, went upstairs, one group at a time, for supper.
The refreshments carried out the class colors, gold and white. The party
was concluded by a grand march in which everyone took part. As souvenir of
the occasion, each guest carried away a yellow rose with a snapper attached.
We do not need to tell how much the party was enjoyed by all present. Our
host and his wife never fail to give a good time."

4) "The reception given by the Juniors Friday night to the seniors, faculty,
and the school board members was a success in every way. The gymnasium was
very prettily decorated with pink apple blossoms and green crepe paper,
carrying out the color scheme of the two classes. The tables were arranged
in a capital S, in honor of the seniors. The table decorated consisted of
May poles with green and pink streamers, and green menu cards.

Mr. Weiland acted as toast master. He gave a very find toast to the mothers
of the Juniors who assisted very efficiently with the service of the
banquet. The following gave toasts: Irene Schwark - Welcome to the
Seniors; Harry Cant - Response; Mrs. McLean - To the Seniors; Miss Moll - To
the Juniors; Evalena Thalacker - To the Faculty; Erwin Hindes - To the
School Board; Mr. H. Schwark - Response; Mr. F.L. Roskie - Response.

The sophmore girls with their courteous and pleasant manner made very able
waitresses.

After the dinner was over, the guests were ushered into the auditorium where
an interesting program given by the Juniors was thoroughly enjoyed. A
social hour was then spent in the Auditorium."
