Goodbear Cemetery

Located on Cottonville avenue in the northwest one quarter of Section 11, Preston Township, Adams County, Wisconsin. This cemetery is located on private land, however there is a right of way to this cemetery. It is quite a ways off the main road on a slight hill and cannot be seen from Cottonville avenue. Only two headstones were located in this cemetery.

LEACH, Edward
Winnebago, Wonk. Born in 1897 and died in 1969. Transcriber's Note: Information is on the same headstone as Sadie Leach.

LEACH, Sadie
Nee Winneshiek. He Noonck. Born in 1906 and died in 1970. Transcriber's Note: Information is on the same headstone as Edward Leach.

BAILEY, Aantonio Pettibone
Born on 23 June 2001 and died on 25 August 2001.

GOODBEAR, Daisy Inez
Transcriber's Note: There is no headstone, but an obituary in the Friendship Reporter newspaper, dated 24 November 1927 states:

Daisy Inez Goodbear, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Goodbear of the Town of Preston, died at her home in that town, Tuesday, 22 November 1927 following an extended illness of tuberculosis, at the age of 15 years, 7 months and 24 days. Her mother, being an invalid, Daisy had remained at home and assisted in the work as long as her health would permit, and will be sadly missed from the family circle. Her parents and a number of brothers and sisters survive her. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, and interment made in the Indian burying ground in the Town of Preston.

GOODBEAR, Dorothy
Transcriber's Note: There is no headstone, but an obituary in the Friendship Reporter newspaper, dated 30 May 1929 states: OBITUARY - Dorothy Goodbear: Dorothy, the twenty-two year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Goodbear of Preston, died Sunday afternoon, May 25, following a lingering illness with tuberculosis. This Indian maiden, possessed of a patient, quiet and lovely nature, so say those who knew her, during her months of suffering was ever full of fortitude and courage. She leaves to mourn her passing, her aged parents, two sisters and a brother. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon May 28; Mrs. Elsie O. Barnes offering a prayer, and interment was in a private plot on the Goodbear farm.

GOODBEAR, Mother and Infant
Transcriber's Note: There are no headstones, but the following information is from the Adams County Press, dated, Saturday, August 20, 1898 from the Roche-A-Cris news column: The wife and infant child of Tom Goodbear died last week Wednesday. She was a sister of Foster Decorah. These may have been buried in the Mount Repose cemetery; however, there are no headstones for these in that cemetery either.
